Hello all. Its been a while, as you can see from the past date. I have taken this post from a forum I posted on several months ago, and have yet to update any pictures I've yet to take. Black Fists War Organization Chart for the two chapters

The Black Fists are a chapter that descends directly from the honored Imperial Fists. Sister chapters with the Black Templars and the Crimson Fists, the Black Fists combine both paint schemes of the chapters. The chapter badge comes directly from the Imperial Fists, with crossing triangles in the background represent both the Black Templars and Crimson Fists intertwined in brotherhood.

Founded in the year M37 from a surplus of tactical units, the Black Fists spent five decades training members to be specialized with devastator weaponry and in the form of rapid assault. Although the newly formed chapter had little to no experience in battle, Chapter Master Andre Cortola was soon to remedy that by bringing the Black Fists to battle with the dark treachery of Chaos.

After several incidents, the brothers who performed at a greater level of weaponry skill and tactics, were soon seen as the chapter’s elite. Chapter Master Andre Cortola soon made a point of forming proper companies after seeing initial performance of the marines. Following the strict Codex Astartes, Cortola soon had ten companies at full strength under his command.
Although the chapter closely followed the Codex Astartes, Cortola had put in an extra squad in his elite First Company. By doing so, he had ten extra marines to bolster the attack of the core force. The First would always move as one, soon to be known throughout the chapter and the home systems as Cortola’s Hammer was swift to bring destruction to the enemies of the Holy Emperor.

The chapter itself is a master of siege tactics. No match for the Imperial Fists themselves, the Black Fists have been known to hold citadels under siege for years, eventually flushing out the enemy from within. The commanders of the Black Fists are well versed in tactical planning, rehearsing every movement before it happens.

The Black Fists embrace the Codex Astartes readily, and receive training of all aspects of combat as written by Roboute Guilleman.

Once recruits are selected, their criminal record is examined, and they undergo a battery of tests: musculature, psychological profile, psychic level, eye reflexes, intelligence, the ability to shoot, pain resistance, and dexterity. If they manage to pass that, they face extreme heat, cold, empty space, and any other condition they may face on any warzone. The severity of testing increases along the way. If the initiate passes, he becomes a cadet and the symbol of the Black Fists is marked on his left shoulder. Then begins the indoctrination, training and the actual surgery that will make them Marines. After the initiation ceremony, the cadet's family is informed that their child has become a Space Marine to ensue a matter of pride in the families.

The 1st company always marches together as one, with the Captain of the Company always being the Chapter Master as well. As with the Crimson Fists, it is considered a bad omen to march to battle with less than a full veteran company.

The Black Fists have always had close ties with the Imperium and the Inquisition. They have contributed many warriors to the kill-teams of the Ordo Xenos, being renowned Ork fighters. Many of these kill-team warriors have made their way back into the chapter, and even into the veteran company.

Chapter master Cortola is a veteran of over three hundred battles, most of which are against the foul Orks. He has battled against Orks so often that he knows how the greenskins think. He can predict their movements and where they’ll have emplacements. This wealth of knowledge has been well used during several large wars, such as the Waaagh Hargrutz and the Gragnutz uprising.

Taking one thousand fresh recruits, Cortola made way on the Battlebarge Knights Glory to find a new homeworld close to Terra. Eventually landing on Abregado, a lush planet with a large indigenous human population. They did not have the technology yet to venture into space, but they had been visited by many ambassadors of the Imperium, and they knew well of the Space Marines.

The chapter moved as a whole to the planet of Abregado to construct a fortress monastery, and by doing so, duly populated the planet. The first few years after constructing their monastery went to recruiting from the entire planet’s population, recruiting around three-hundred neophytes to become scouts, though only two-hundred and fifty survived the initial tests administered by the chapter.

The first company, or Cortola’s Hammer, travels around the universe as one force together, lead by Cortola himself. They travel in one of the chapter’s strike cruisers Victory’s Grasp which always seems to get them to the planets surface in one piece, not once being attacked in the Warp and always getting them through planetary defenses. The company always descends to the planets surface via drop pod or teleportation. After an initial drop point is secured, Thunderhawks will bring down Land Raiders, Rhinos and Razorbacks for the company to move to the next warzone in.

The company has scored several hundred victories, from small incursions in-system, to aiding in the Third War for Armageddon.

So with my first chapter, The Royal Redeemers, and the most recent, The Sapphire Saints, both have almost failed miserably. In fact, the Sapphire Saints didn't really fail...yet, but I was having a very hard time coming up with a chapter icon. I was surfing the B&C boards, and saw several AMAZING Imperial Fists armies, like Shaw3029 and Inquisitor Engel's. I decided to make my new chapter, the Black Fists, be a successor of them. Obviously by the name, they're a mix between the Black Templars and the Crimson Fists.

The Chapter as of December 22nd, 2010 There is another Thunderbolt, but it was presently in a box to be shipped to Australia, but thanks to eBay, it didn't actually sell...

As Prometheus was a being of fire, they use the burning might of melta weaponry to take down their foes.

So its been a while since I've posted anything, but thats because I didn't do much. I guess it doesn't really matter since no one reads my blog anyways! =-p

I finished the Stergnuard Squad.

Ah...so I bought a full close combat terminator squad from Rictus last week, and they arrived. :D And the 5 sets of DA Shoulder pads as well. Though I must say..I kinda hate having a bit of OCD...

I asked my sister for a resin molding kit for Christmas, so if I'm lucky ;-D ;) But I won't mind if I don't get it. Its just resin. But, what I really want the resin for is to mold my BFG ship pieces, so I can start making those 'superships' I talked about... :D :D
I thought the nids would be next on the plate, as I needed something other than Black Fists to paint...but...I need white spray, and I need to be 18 to get it, or I need someone to get it for me...what a pain.
Whats next up for now I gather is my Command/Honor Guard. I don't know which they'll be yet, I have to finish that terminator guy to determine if hes cool enough to be Captain or Chapter Master.

I started constructing the three winged warriors I will have in my army as well. Two will be upright, firing their guns, and one will be leaning forwards to make it look like its traveling with its gun at ease.

I haven't done any work on 40k at all this week pretty much, its been busy, but next week, I have no school, so I'll probably get SOMETHING done..I hope.
I finally came up with a carapace scheme that I like for my Tyranids. I'm not too sure about the fleshy parts, but I can work that out tomorrow or something.
Expect more in this thread soon. I think I'm slowly getting tired of the Black Fists...I'll go back to them shortly.

Its been a long time since I've updated in blogland.
I've almost finished my Sternguard Squad. I'm just adding the shoulderpad details and pouches and stuff now. I've started working on finishing the paint details on the first Sternguard.

I like how I used plastic glue to melt some shavings in his mouth vent to cover up the Dark Angels symbol.

I've started on my next squad though, as I've been wanting to build something for a while. I'm going slow, so I can really add character to my models. I've started on the sergeant. I haven't chosen his arms, but I want him to have a power weapon.

As you can see...hes just a pile o bitz. :D

And since the squad will be focused around bolter weaponry, they will all have specially designed bolters. The one on the left needs some gap filling, and the one in the middle needs holes drilled into the barrel, but the one on the right is done.

And if it stops raining, I'll walk down to Hobby Town to get some plasticard rods for rivets on my Dreadnought. ;)

Sittin on the Dock of the Bay

So I finished my Sternguard Squad. I need a lot of stuff to do to finish it. I need to touch up the blacks, the blues, and the silvers. But I also ned to finish doing the gems and purity seals. They're far from done, but I need to call them finished for the sake of the BolterandChainsword vow, which I promised to paint the Sternguard, the Vanguard, and the Terminator.

I will be starting on finishing the Terminators ASAP. I will be painting them to a slightly less than standard-table-top detail. I really want to start the Vanguard, but I feel that I should finish what I've started. In reality, I really, really want to start the Dreadnought, but hes not completely done yet.

So I painted my first, and probably last Eldar last night. Ulthwe. It took about an hour, at midnight, and I have never done such precision highlighting in my life. I didn't bother finishing, because I knew it would take hours to touch up again, and again. I stopped at one, because I had to wake up at four for a BAND REVIEW!!! Which we took 1st in!!! YEESSSSS!!!!!! And our Drum Major took second! Swish!

I painted the weapons on the Land Raider silver, and I added a golden brown wash to my Sternguard.

Dreadnought Down

I've been really busy with my school marching band...and we had 2 parades and a competition in the past 3 days. So we were cramming as much marching information as we could in the past week...because compared to last year...we SUCK. We took a couple of 2nds and a 1st....horrible. Next Saturday is our next Comp. Those freshman suck more than the usual freshman.
Ugh...rivets....thats going to be a pain. I opted to take the magnets out of his arms, because I didn't feel like adding more detail paneling on the other arms.

And I picked up 4 Eldar Guardians and a Tactical Squad today.

And the tac sprue was missing a bit of plastic...which will require a bit of filling..Oh well.

I didn't like the battle damage that I gave him when I first got him, so I just put some paneling on him instead. This is my first detail work with small plasticard, and I'm highly pleased, though simple the project. I plan on doing it for all 4 of his arms maybe, as they're damaged too, and its not too great.
And I plan on adding some stuff to hold up the banner like my Standard Bearer.

Video Scavenger Hunt! And Knives

Yep..so another wasted weekend.
Saturday I spent the morning (6 AM-12 noon) taking my ACT, which is another standardized test for us Californians to take so we can get into college... Then I went to my school to help my friend with his Eagle Project (Yep, I'm a Boy Scout). Then after that, my friends and I did a video-picture scavenger hunt...which was a humongous load of fun. One of the things we had to do was to serenade to someone...so we serenaded to a car next to us. :D (I'm riding shotgun)

Then today I went to San Francisco to have lunch with my extended family...and came home and did some homework and virtually nothing else... BUT! I did get a gift from my uncle...who works for the newspaper, and...back in the day, before computer editing, they used knives to place the articles...and now he doesn't need them so...

I think I'm set :D :D :D
And I decided that I've been wanting to paint a Dreadnought for so long, I started pulling apart my first one...that I didn't assemble..and I found that the person who did (My friend who no longer paints) did so...crappily, and I was able to pick at it with index finger..and it all popped off...

And my sister had painted three models a while back, so I told her I was going to use them in my army, and I needed her to paint me 7 more...so she gets to spend some time with me painting :P

Those are two Crimson Fists, and I believe...is a...um...Blood Angel? Heh..I dunno :D

Not Much Not Much

Haven't gotten much done lately. I was able to start basing the Vanguard though, which I'm quite happy with. I've never used cork, so I was very happy with the outcome.

And I finished basecoating the metallics on the Sternguard, now just for highlights and gold.

Black Fist

I finished highlighting the blue on my Sternguard today. biggrin.gif And I started on the metals. I officially believe, that I am stupid. I haven't touched up the black yet, but I used my last pot of chaos black to make a darker metal color....so....I can't touch up the black until I get another pot...dammit. ermm.gif

And I just want to show my tank again cool.gif I drybrushed some metal color on the treads...but thats about it. The Hephaestus.

And I've started making the plastic components for the rest of my 50 Sternguard.

And I finished my 'governor'...the Terminator. (Yeah, I'm from California =-D )

I almost decided to make my 'Belial' model (which is just a small pile of bitz) into my 1st Company Captain....but...I opted not to :P Maybe Commander Culln from Forgeworld...hes ONLY £11.75.... for one model... ^o) But I was hoping to get the Red Scorption Veteran pack and Vangauard pack as well...so that ups the shopping cart.... ;) I need a job...and to finally pay off my sister...AUGGG

Squirrel_Fish (and others): I guess that the organization chart needs a bit of esplanin to do.
There are 10 squads (1st company). The Sternguard squads will be mounted in Land Raiders. The Terminators and Vanguard will not.
So looking at

Squad Gaia, with the Missile Launcher heavy weapons, will be attached to Land Raider Poseidon (which is why it says Missile Launcher next to it)
Squad Prometheus, with the Multi Meltas, will be attached to Land Raider Hephaestus.
Squad Tartarus, with the Lascannons, will be attached to Land Raider Hades.
Squad Enyo, with the Heavy Bolters, will be attached to Land Raider Ares.
Squad Hemera, with the Plasma Cannons, will be attached to Land Raider Artemis.

Make sense? =-D The chart is funky...but it is 'orderly'

I inked the black parts of the Land Raider, I wasn't too pleased with the drybrushing I did.

Attached to Sternguard squad Prometheus, The Hephaestus provides long range fire support.

I just got through reading Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder and Mythology by Edith Hamilton for my English class. I quite like the Greek Mythology that we'll be covering for the semester, and I think I'm going to label all of my stuff after Gods and Titans. ;-D Logically of course.
For starters, Prometheus is a Titan related to fire (Multi Meltas), while Hephaestus is the god of Fire and the Forge (attached to squad with Multi Meltas). Land Raiders will be titled after Olympian Dieties (Main gods), and squads will be titled after Primordial Dieties ( "secondary" gods).
My two Vanguard squads will be named Ouranos (Primordial), who was the god of the heavens, and Aether (Primordial) who was the god of upper air.
Quite confusing I know, but I think if I really put a bit of thought to it, it could actually work. =-D

Add list:Heres how it goes. Sternguard are all in Land Raiders. On the right, it shows what kind of 2 heavy weapons each squad will have, which corresponds with the Land Raider names.

A quick draft, but I think I really like it. I can add to it when I get other tanks and scouts and other goodies ;)

Second Painted Raider

I don't understand it, the blue on the Land Raider seems to be a bit lighter/grayer...
I sprayed black, then I basecoated black, then I drybrushed with Codex Gray...I'm not super pleased with the results..yet

And now I'm back on the hunt for some more BFG stuff >=-D

Look what I found hiding behind the Exterminus!

It had a few Dark Angel icons on it, but I scraped those off, and did the best I could to smooth off the sections..I might end up having to do some sort of weathering or something. <<< I need to buy/skim through at the store the How to Paint Tanks book. I saw something on how to do bullet holes and melta damage and stuff which I want to try on this tank =-D

And I'm also trying to put some different shades in my Rasta's hair and skin tones.

Star Wars was my first love (After Thomas the Tank Engine and LEGO (But LEGO are still ranked #1)) and I doodled this up..not too great, but hey...thats why I paint =-D

And I stole my sister's computer back, some Dell creation..a couple years old..so I plan on taking out the 'obsolete' parts, and replacing them. Starting with the HD..because last time I had it in my room...I loaded countless amounts of virusi in it... =-D

Commando

Auugh.
So tonight, I went out to play Commando with my friends. Commando, if you don't know, is a huge game of tag. You get from landmark A, a school, to landmark B, another school, about 2 miles away. At night. And you're running from people on cars, and they chase you down, and drag you into their car. Its dangerous, and fun as hell.
I almost made it to the end, but I was about 30 feet away, and I tripped on a stump B) (it was pitch black, and i was running hella fast from a truck) and ate $#!T, and I wasn't wearing a shirt.....and it kinda hurts bad... Screwed up my knee hella bad too. =-P Hella fun. BUT I made it!! :D

I think..I think (Unless you guys think they could use more work) I finished the tabbards on my guys. I'm not super pleased, but I hate tabbards, and I don't want to mess with them any more! :o

And while I was at it, I went and painted the head on dreadlock guy, since once I highlight the blue, it'll be a pain in the arse to get to....and now you know hes actually black, and not a Space Wolf.

What do you think? I might end up updating tonight again, if I make enough progress! Which would be rad. <<< Californian, I can say that :D

This One Time...At Band Camp

I love band camp ;-D We had hella fun..and being a Senior just made it so much MORE fun! Screwing with Freshman...haha. Hella fun.

I managed to put base coats on my Sternguard.

I'm starting to get really excited about these Multi-Melta marines...I think they look good.

Hey Squirrel_Fish!!! Welcome back! I'm glad you actually came back =-P I would have used a jewellers saw, but the gaps between the shoulderpad and the heads was just too small.

Casted products aren't illegal until I sell them ;-D

And I can now start painting the Sternguard squad, once I spray them. I'll just have a couple of gaps to fill once I glue on the Multimeltas.

The next squad will all have storm bolters (I hope) and will have 2 heavy bolters in it. =-D

Have I ever told you how much I hate metal minis? I converted the MKII Veterans to be part of my Sternguard Squad....that took forfrickenever. I spent at least an hour and a half cutting off the first guy's left arm. The second one was done within minutes, and the third, I used a drill on, and moved much quicker!
Its times like this where I wish I could borrow someone's Dremel... =-(
I tried to keep the cut clean, but I just got fed up with my xacto, and started using my Leatherman and clippers...what a pain!

I finally found use for those Devastators I bought a while back as well!

Done De De Dum Dum

I'm just about done with my squad now! I just need to do the Crux Terminatus, which I'm waiting to find a good tutorial on them first, and maybe some weathering. And a whole lot of small details, like the sergeant's eye, leaves around the chest piece, and text on the armor and purity seals. And paint the rim of the bases.

I've done some more on the next 5 Terminators. I'm using Novogord from Ammobunker's technique/idea of painting a couple marines at a time, and I indeed do get better results, faster =-D I started with the two from the right, and I'm slowly moving left, still semi-assembly line. Things like eyes and bone-colored parts I did as one, as I had excess paint, and I wanted them uniform. But the extreme highlights and leg-piston-things I did individually.
The two on the right are almost done. Just need metallics, purity seal-reds and scrollwork, stone parts, lights and pretty-ifying bases!

I've been working on the standard, and I've put maybe 8 coats of bone on it, and its still not a solid color...this is a pain =-P
I'm molding some of the more 'hard to get' pieces from the Devastator sprues, which I still haven't clipped yet.

And I'm still highly distressed with the size of this true scaling...

So far, I have about 35 models, plus or minus some of the weird characters I've made. I'll be doing some lame-basing, because I tried adding some Tyranids, but that didn't work, so I pulled them off. I added some 'shells' on the ground, and from about a food away, they look pretty good. Idea contributed by T.J. Gunnel!!

My command squad is comprised of the Chapter Masters that came out in Apocalypse. I had two boxes, so I had to split one up =-( But I think I can use the characters later on. I hope to maybe get all of the Space marine characters in my company one day, like Inquisitor Engel.
I have only finished half a Terminator squad and a Chaplain, but that was with the RR.

I'm still working on the iconography a bit, but I just pulled up Lexicanum, and use some tracing paper and did a bit of brainstorming. My company standard bearer holds a standard of 3ish inches...which means more space for me to pretty up...if I can =-P I used Microsoft Word to find some nice fonts for my chapter title, and added them to my tracing paper. The picture provided, I traced in pencil, then went over with Rapidograph pens. Unfortunately, most of the pens are clogged, so I had to use fatty ones =-( I need to get those fixed.

I have 5 of the Vanguard Veterans, and I have some MkIIs, and I hope to get 5 extras of the nice jump packs for the MkIIs, so they'll fit in with the squad. I also have 5 of the Sternguard Veterans, and I have a squad of Devastators still sitting on my desk from last week (I'm surprised I haven't started working on them yet.)
For my Company Captain, I want to use Commander Cullin from the Red Scorpions.

A Bit of Something Done

So I did a tad of work on the LRE the other day, and its not that great, but it is a start on the top detail.
I took the normal LR piece that I was able to save, and I added an extension so it went all the way across the top-er part.

I also think I finished the border part, I'm not sure if I missed any parts yet.
And I did both of the track guard-details.

Any thoughts on the top detail part?
I think I've finished the command squad, now I just need a Captain, and some 40mm bases.

I'm thinking something forgeworld for the captain. I hope.

I'm starting another True Scaling...for that tutorial I promised you all...but this one is freakishly too big..I'll make him a Terminator then =-P

And look! Following my vision, I opened my other box of Chapter Masters =-( So sad...but thats okay I guess, and I threw the painted 4 into the simple green so I can paint them all at once!

I burnt his Standard (not on purpose) but at least now it folds in the right direction with his cloak. Which makes me feel good that I noticed that =-D

He'll have a plasma pistol in his other arm, which is already ready, and his head...will...be a head...

Raptor1313: Thanks for stopping by. I'm not big on shaved heads either, but I too see the practicality, I guess thats why buzz cuts are also seen quite often in Space Marines...and Mohawks (Lysander) ....just think about the Space Wolves! They have head hair AND facial hair!

I just finished one with dreads...
They're not too Space Wolfy, and when I paint him, he won't look like a Space Wolf at all. When the Green Stuff dries, I'll sand it a bit, so its not smooth. Each hair thing is an individual strand...I probably wont' do this ever again. =-P

So I think I just boosted my army numbers from 35ish to 55ish!!!! YESSSSSS I found 21 crappy/stripped Dark Angels bodies in my bitz box just now!! I just need to secure around 21 heads, backpacks, and shoulder pads with arms X*-( I was planning on ordering a couple of Tactical Squads to veteranify in a few days anyways, but if I do so, then I'll be left with 20 torsos and legs...not that I'm complaining, but, I don't have many arms for them =-( Hmm..sticky situation ;-D
I was only able to paint the leg armor things on only 2 Terminators, but I did drill out all the barrels for my entire army =-D

I removed all the yellow from the Terminators, and now they fit right in with the rest of the crowd =-D
I also called Games Workshop today, and I'm getting my Power Sword toting Veteran sometime next week =-P I'm still working on bolstering my forces still.

I've been looking at the Games Workshop website to see what bitz I want to order from my store, because I'm in need of 40mm bases, and since my LGS does bitz orders now, and I just got $500 from my parents on my new debit card, I thought I'd splurge a little bit =-D Victory is mine! I REALLY want some of those Thunderhammers, but my theme is still ranged...I'm so unable to make my choices. I basecoated one of the jump packing Vanguard, and I really like the blue, but as it seems now, I'll have to buy another set of them, and then Veterans Mk1...which is going to be a lot of money.... damn!
These are the Terminator shoulder pads I cast for the Royal Redeemers, bearing the chapter symbol. Its not exciting, but its the only thing I have right now. I don't have a drawing of one anymore neither. I used one of said cast shoulder pads on Tanky the Terminator =-D

I'm having a super brain thing right now. I'm in such a 40k mood, that words cannot describe this...ness. I solved the SM Captains issue!! I will field them as a command squad! If only they came in a set of 5...but thats okay, I have an extra box of them!

I plan getting two of the power fist guys. One will be as is, and the other I plan on taking the power fist guy, cutting off the sword, and putting in a standard, and his other arm will be a plasma pistol. The guy with the Thunder Hammer will have a Narthecium attached to his cape-holding arm. And the guy with the shield will be my company champion! Pure can of win!

I'll be meticulously combing through my bitz box in a few minutes trying to find all the necessary pieces for those veteran bodies I found =-/

I finished highlighting the Termies today. Woke up at 11, and was able to finish them all before lunch =-D

Sad thing is, I realize that the AoBR Termie Sergeant is the most decorated Sergeant I have.. =-( And I had to shuffle one of the Sergeants into the 5 man squad, because I can't have two power swords in one squad!
I also pulled the Sternguard out of the Simple Green just now, and they look great! =-D
I also realized, that the 5 veterans I bought (4) aren't Sternguard material!!! Only one of them has a bolter, and the others are more like Vanguard! Ayeee!!! Looking at the Apocalypse Reloaded, I can just get the other Mk I vets, and make them a standard Veteran Squad, phew.

I tried painting the white on the helmets...but it was much too not-smooth. So I then had to scrub the Nids in the Simple Green so I could put these guys in. So the plan for tomorrow, after driving to San Francisco (hourish both ways) I'll be working on the SIMPLE, ten man Terminator Squad. =-D

Today I went to get some Catachans for a trade, and I ended up picking up some Space Marine Veterans MkII! I opened the box, and found that I had a huge Ork arm in the box! And I thought "jackpot!". But while I was assembling, I noticed that I was missing a veteran! Noo!! So I'm going to call GW tomorrow.

Heres the "official" post for the Sapphire Saints.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away...

I started an army, called the Royal Redeemers. That practically died. So I'm reliving them, but in a different name, and with different fluff.

So this time, The Sapphire Saints will be part of the 5th founding of the Ultramarines.
They're mainly a codex chapter, who prefer ranged combat to close combat. They are extreme haters of Tau and Tyranids, and several of the Veterans have once been trained by Chaplain Cassius. The veteran brothers who wear power armor all have white helmets, but the Terminators do not. The Sapphire Saints have such a large count of Tactical Dreadnought Armor (20) because when they were formed, the Ultramarines still had a 'surplus' of Terminators.

The force I'm making..very slowly, is just going to be the 1st Company. I'm already 40 (including 6 Captains and heroes) strong! The Company will comprise more of Sternguard than anything else, to fit with the theme of ranged combat. To save money, and keep things varied, I'll use 15 of the veterans (Sternguard, MkI, and MkII) and then the rest will be converted Tactical Squads. I'm in need of a few names and a chapter symbol. I'll spend the next few nights working on that.

So far, the almost-completely painted list. 5 Terminators, 1 Chaplain in Terminator armor, and 1 Captain. I need to remove the yellow, since the fluff no longer covers that.

Unpainted wise, I have 10 Terminators, 5 Captains, 5 Sternguard, 4 (GW didn't put one in the box, so I need to call them) MkII vets, 5 Vanguard, 1 Tanky-Terminator, 1 scratch built Techmarine, 2 Librarians, and my true scale Chapter Master.

Horatio:Hey man! No problem, but I was thinking "hmm, wheres Horatio or Squirrel_Fish" =-D Gene Simmons! *sticks tong out*

So I redid the head on the Brood Lord again, this time, not so much chopping. I just altered the tong a bit. It needs a bit of Green Stuff work, and is kinda thick, but its not bad.

I left it in the Simple Green for too long, so it tarnished =-(

I finally had the urge to paint today. But I didn't want to paint Deathwing, so I figured I'd do some of the black-blue guys. (They're no longer Royal Redeemers, so I don't have an official name for them yet) So I didn't have anything to really work on! I didn't feel like doing the Sternguard. So I assembled the 5 AoBR Terminators I got in the mail while I was gone. I still wanted to paint. I decided that all the current-edition Terminators (besides the Golden Brownie marines) will be Black-blue, and the older editions will be Deathwing. I don't know why, but it works =-D So I went to spray them and several other things.

zing! 10 Terminators, 4 Chapter Masters, 1 Captain, 1 *scratch* Techmarine, and the Tanky the Terminator. I also have the 5 Vanguard to start at the same time, and to finish the Sternguard.
By the time the usual hour was up for the spray... I didn't feel like painting at all...so now I get to wait until I get that urge again before anything gets done! Who knows when that'll be!!!

Okay, so I need this post because I need Horatios and Squirrel_Fish and anyone else who reads my blog 's ideas and opinions.

I finished Green Stuffing the Warriors' legs, but I don't think they're good enough to get another bunch of pictures. So now I need to know what the next 5 strong brood should be. They won't be flying, that'll be the 3 man, but I just can't put my finger on what it should be! Help?

I've decided to next start on my Broodlord while I wait. I wanted to have an Implant Attack put on its tong, like the Genestealer one, so I added some Green Stuff....fail. While searching for more Carnifex conversions with Google a few minutes ago, I found a cool conversion for a head that I will be using for it.

I had also started a Tyranid project a while ago, but I never took any Work in Progress pictures, so I couldn't share. The Laiuss Horror is about double the size of a Carnifex I believe. I had to widen the torso out quite a bit, and the last time I held it, it was about the size of a Dreadnought I'd have to say...and thats just the torso! I was back logging my pictures, and I found a couple that I had taken, pre-green stuff. Unfortunately, I only found 3 pictures from very early stages. =-(

I finished the torso and head on my own, but I rrrreeaaalllyyy didn't want to do the tail, so I sent it to Matt Bonder to have him finish that for me. Its been quite a while, and I'm almost certain its done now! I'm excited. This is what the Laiuss Horror is supposed to look like.

Brood 1 Done

So I'm back a day early. When we got up to where we were hiking (Kings Canyon if you may know where that is (California)) and there was a huge fire 10 miles outside of the campsite where we were to be staying that night. So the adults talked with the Forest Rangers, and we ended up staying in a camp about 30 miles south. The next day, we contacted the Ranger Station, to find that the fire was only contained 20%, and that we wouldn't be able to hike yet...so the adults decided that we'd go somewhere else. So we packed our backpacks, and hiked some 30 mile lake loop. That was 5 days. Then we drove north to Yosemite, and hiked Half Dome, which was about 16 miles, so we almost made 50 on our trip, which isn't too bad.

I just finished the 5th of the brood. The brood leader.

He will be holding a head of a Catachan. =-D

Just the green stuffing left, and some Catachans.
And since I used the steroid arms, I had an extra arm for that other Nid! Huzzah!

Horatio: How big a brood? I figure. I have this 5 strong one, I can make another 5 strong, and a 3 strong that will be flying. And if I can sell them all, I should be able to make a pretty penny =-D

So this last one for the brood, I was stumped for SO long trying to figure out what to position him as... I finally had to just do something, because I'll be hiking for 9 days starting in 3 hours, so I needed to be able to finish the brood before I lost total train of thought.

The next brood..I'm thinking...flying. The Chaos Demented (or something..I only have the bitz now) wings w/ backpack fit perfectly on a Warrior.

I had another brain thing again. So I made another Warrior. I had to take Senior pictures today, pretty early (considering I went to bed at 4AM this morning). So then my mom and I went to get me a new watch, and then went to lunch...then I came home and crashed for a couple of hours.

I only managed to make one Nid....all day...Pretty slow. =-P Following the leaping theme, with scything talons and rending claws. Which..unfortunately means I still need to locate a talon for the first Nid...I think I want to make this brood be 5 strong, at least...which means I still need 3 more ideas X-D But its okay, because I just cut up one of the New On Sprue Warriors to make number two...so I have two extras =-D (I can't sell a brood of 2...)

What a GREAT welcome back!! I love you guys! Let me start by saying its 3 AM, and I just finished the new Harry Potter...it was good, but the ending sucked X-P. No spoilers. I spent the entire day hanging with my friends, watching Harry Potter, and playing wit LEGOs. =-D So I didn't do any modeling.
haha! I'll spoil something now, I spent about 10 minutes trying to figure out how to color text for Blogger...Thank you Google!!

Horatio first: First: Yeah! I think that when I don't feel like 40k-ing, I'll just make tons of army lists, and it'll get me back into the mood. I think I just overwhelm myself with them, and it gets me wanting to do stuff!
Second: I know right?! Good call X-D I just hoped you'd come back and see what it was!
Third: For the Flamestorms, I kinda liked the design of one barrel longer, and one shorter. I saw it in the How to Paint Space Marines book (that should be italicized, but all my typing is italics) with the Predator on page 91 (if you want a pic, I can supply one next post). I just loved the look. I did it with my old Predator, and it turned out pretty well, so I thought I'd just share the awesomeness... I know, that theoretically, if these Flamestorms worked, one would singe the other, yadda yadda...but its 40k X-D
Fourth: When I first posted it up, I got a lot of comments along the lines of "over compensating" and the like =-D
Fifth: Yeah I know!! Its awesome! I'm surprised with myself... but if I do pursue the Nids again, I'll be needing more ideas for the rest of the brood X-D

Mitch: Thanks for the tank dude! I've posted up my Work In Progress datasheet..and I got SOOOOOOOO much flak for it. The "head admin" at Ammobunker had "heated discussions" about it...yet, he failed to read what I had put AROUND the datasheet...which explained how I didn't know WHAT TO DO!!!....Pissed me off so bad.. Then there were others there that expressed a slightly less anger to it...

Heres the datasheet. THIS is what I had posted around my sheet...but no one noticed..so I got flakked....BULL $±¡†!!!!

Under "Venerable Presence" there are multiple options for the attributes that the models gain. I will be choosing one, but I want your input on which one. Your input now, would be helpful, but I don't really want it discussed on my blog..thank you.

So the LRE is almost done.

I had to make the Flamestorm cannon front out of plasticard, because the detail to not detail was bad. (on the tubing)

I was skimming through my mind (yeah, I do that sometimes X-D) And I thought I'd make a Tyranid. I didn't want to cut anything off the sprue, because I'm planning on selling all of that, so I dived into my bitz boxes... Thankfully..I found a full Tyranid Warrior body! (and half of another) in sprue! So excited. So I got out the putty, and started seeing what I could do. I just stuck stuff places, and definitely liked what I was doing...so I cleaned up most of the flash, and started gluing! I'm almost completely happy with this conversion. He's missing a left scything talon, because fatefully...I don't have one (weird..I know) and I don't want to cut one out of the sprue, because that would take away from its sellability...
The conversion is supposed to represent leaping I think...I dunno..it just looks really neat X-D leaping over the current target, to get to the thing on the other side!

So I finally decided to glue the top plate onto my LRE!! yaayyy...The way I had to do it though, that was a pain. I loaded as much plastic glue onto the lattice work super structure that I could. Then I put the plate on, and put lots of pressure on it. The sides were still able to be pulled up, so I lined it up as best I could and glued it in small segments. I think it worked up pretty well. Its attached very well, and VERY sturdy!
Problem number two...LOTS of gaps around the entire thing. Oh boy! Green stuffing for me! So I rolled a large glob of green stuff, and worked in small sections around the chassis. I pre-smoothed it by taking my knife-like tool, and dragging it across the clumped green stuff, a new technique I discovered just now, which is FANTASTIC! I'll sand it all down after it all dries.

Then I get to do MORE detailing tonight! Its pretty early, 11, so expect another update. Or an edit or something.

Heres the update.
I added the track cover on the outer tracks, and I think it came out quite nicely. I didn't want to do the arches like the Maximus has, because thats not very Dark Angely at all. So I went with some sort of sword design, which I thought was quite genius. The hilt will be detail.

Unfortunately, the wings wouldn't fit on the track guard, so I just had to do one wing, which is okay I guess.

None of the icons have been glued on yet.

Tyranid Wave 1

Heh, thanks for the motivational tip Longscope...but...I finished the side detailing by 2 AM last night X-D I thought I had the top detail drawn out, but I'm not sure I like the way it was going to turn out..so thats on hold for a bit.

I'll do more on it tonight probably, I've been in that 40k mood...weird.

I've been in the mood to do some Tau and Tyranid modeling, but I don't have any NoS Tau, so I'm doing Tyranid! I surfed the web for more inspiration, and I just finished a quick Carnifex head...time: 20 minutes. =-P lame...

The Land Raider

I came home early from camp, Monday... but its been 2 weeks since then, and I haven't updated...I haven't done any sort of modeling...

I hope you've all seen the new Codex, (or a 2005 edition of White Dwarf). I'm going to detail my LRE like The Maximus, Marneus Calgar's Land Raider. I like the trim, but I'm not sure if I do this all the way around my LRE if it'll be too much...but oh well, it'll be awesome.

Its going to be a real pain in the neck to do this all the way around...It took me near and hour to do just this small part! Ridiculous. But for some of the harder pieces (with the horrible angles) I already copied 4, so they're all the same! =-D I Sharpied around where I want it all, and I tell you now..its not going to be an easy task =-(
Also, if you look at the Maximus, it has track cover-like things on it, I'm going to be doing that for the outside tracks as well =-D
No update on the DA Chronus.. =-(

Well Horatio: Not much done by this Asian...I don't know if I really am going to be doing the Redeemers or not... =-/ I just haven't been in the mood to do anything.

So I'm home for a grand total of 20 hours. Sweet.

I got home, found 5 more plastic Terminators, and the Dreadnought!
The Dreadnought wasn't exactly in the condition that I was expecting...in this case, the pictures made it look better than it actually was..backwards right? X-D But I fixed it. There was also the yellow part of Green Stuff on it in places, because thats what he used to hold it together, which is a shame, because it makes it harder for me to glue together...something else I have to work around. X-P I had to assemble the little bitz and bobz, because he pulled them off for a clean shipping, which is great!

I also pulled my 5 good Terminators out of the Simple Green, and I'm pleased with the way it took off the crappy white primer.

I'm also going to be re-living my Royal Redeemers army. My friend Pierce and I had came up with the generalities, but I'm keeping the color scheme, and just changing the symbol and the fluff. I'll be building the 1st Company of it, and that'll be 20 Terminators, and 70 Sternguard Veterans, and 10 Vanguard Veterans. Fluff wise, the chapter will prefer ranged, Bolter combat, to anything else.

Pictured are the 10 Terminators, 5 Captains (4 primered dudes, and the painted guy in the front), The Chapter Master (dude with the big banner), a Librarian (the guy that is floating, not falling over), a Chaplain, and 5 Sternguard. I don't know why I didn't bother including the 5 Vanguard, but they're not painted or anything anyways.

I figured, shopping wise, in order to assemble 70 Sternguard, I'd use as many metal veterans I could, then I'd get Tactical Squads, and use my magic to make them awesome =-D I haven't figured out any fluff or stuff yet, but I've come up with some. They'll be of the 5th Founding from the Ultramarines, the Veterans will have white helmets, except Terminators, and will be a Codex Chapter.

Well gents..On Saturday morning, I'm off to my State Capitol for a week, to 'run' the state. (mock legislature). Then, I get to come home, do laundry for about 3 hours, then I'm off to more camping! =-D For a week.

So..you won't be seeing much of me for 2 weeks. But don't loose faith! I'll be writing some stories and seeing if I can doodle some stuff... I figure I'll be writing a whole lot of army lists while I'm up there, either that or texting and playing tons of iPod games. (Thank God for iTouch Apps)
That dreadnought that Ion Raptor made is finally on its way, and I haven't paid for the Terminators yet...I can't even remember who offered them to me!! ARRGGG!!! I might not be able to get the numbers I thought I was =*-( so sad..but hopefully...

The only thing I can show you..are the bases that I started for my terminators.

I tried to theme each set of 5. Working from the back, you have piping, bitz n' giggles, walling, and floor tiles. The "walling" theme isn't glued on yet, as I have to work them down, so they're not so high up. I just used my Leatherman to tear at the plastic, and I think the effect is awesome. Little scratch marks, and bent plastic.

I attached the Ork head to the arm for Belial, added a neck for it and stuff, but it isn't worthy of a picture yet. Not much to really say huh?

One of these days, I'll get something done. And you'll all say "wow, he got a lot done today" And I'll say "yeaaahhhhh" It'll be a gloriously awesome day.

Master Belial of the Deathwing

Heres Master Belial, of the Deathwing.

With him in my 2000 point army list, I can take him, 35 Terminators (I only have 25 right now)with assorted heavy weapons, and my Venerable Dreadnought with Lascannon and Missile Launcher.

So I need to make him. Heres my first plan. The sword belongs to my True Scale Marneus Calgar count as (hes the Chapter Master of my home made chapter).

And heres what I just made. I haven't done any glue work, as I need to spend as much time as I can sorting things out first. I've greenstuffed a neck for the Ork head, so thats not pictured. The shoulderpad things aren't finalized, they need to be cleaned up and shaped. I'm looking for a sword for him to hold. I like "Marneus's", but thats from the Empire General box set.

I guess I should update with something...

I've figured out the Flamestorm Cannons, with help from people on BolterandChainsword and Ammobunker. I cut off the tubing on the bottom, and now I'm working to flip the barrels over.

I finished putting the details on the sponson weapons.

And...people on Ammobunker, when seeing my prototype #2 rules, decided that my tank was too over powered, when it said that I needed help with something...they just kept complaining. So I figured I'd twist their gears.

So 2 days after schools gotten out. I've gone hiking twice =-D I love hiking, and do it all the time with Boy Scouts, but this is with a few friends, and we just wander =-D Yesterday, we went to a place called Rock City, and jumped around in Wind Caves and stuff. Today, we went Geo Caching, in a place called Castle Rock. We found 2 of 4 =-D

I got home, and found not 1, not 2..but 3! packages!

The first one (that I got before I went hiking) totally ruined my day. I traded my nicely painted Tau Hammerhead, for a "white primered Vindicator, with only a couple of Chaos Bitz." What the trader (13 years old) claimed that he didn't have a camera. Thats understandable, I got my first camera when I was 14. What he neglected to tell me was that it is in the worst condition I have ever seen. I'm placid about this, because its being dealt with, and I'm shipping it back, without having to send my Hammerhead. Phew.

I have never seen ANYTHING like this! I'll still be sending out my Hammerhead, but I'll be complaining a LOT. This is ridiculous. Theres gaps everywhere, horrible gluing everywhere. THE FLOOR is placed OUTSIDE the tracks..There aren't any tracks!
I was planning on selling my Hammerhead for $50ish (see what I could get off ebay) and I traded it for...this hunk of CRAP!

I went hiking. I had loads of fun, went to lunch with my friends, went to one of their houses, and played Pokémon Snap, and Star Fox X-D... totally forgot about the Vindicator. I came back, found another package, with some awesome snap fit Terminators! Beautiful!

Helped my dad with some Boy Scout Merit Badge stuff, (little kids =-D ) the parents came, and another box...!!!
5 beautifully primed Terminators! (though, the primer is sorta like the primer that I used, that kinda gave the Terminators a sandy feeling, but its okay) I'm so happy!

Alright...away from packages. I've assembled some test troops for a Battle Company I'll be assembling..when I get the stuff..

Not much... but I haven't done anything else. Too much hiking and chilling X-D

This is what we're going for.

The bone color of Deathwing, or similar colored items.

The process is spray black/white. My white sucks, so I use black.

Then I use a coat of Dheneb Stone (GW Foundation paint).

Let that completely dry

Then I give it a wash of (GW) Red ink, Brown ink, Yellow ink, Flesh Wash, and the new Brown ink (don't know the name). It was just something I poured all my warm-toned inks into, and added the Brown ink to get more volume.

LET THAT COMPLETELY DRY. OVER NIGHT or 1+ hours.

So I guess its about 6 layers. I opted to not use the same model, as the sergeant was the one I was going to paint next, but the tutorial needed something without the brown. But they're all the same right? Just use thin layers, and all will be well.

The paint I used was VMC Pale Sand (007) and VMC Dark Sand (123). I mixed them in a 3 oz. container, and added some water. My first few layers (original test model, not this one) came out with streaks, so I added more water. I'm quite happy with the results I achieve now. I haven't started highlighting this or the test model, so that will have to be another part of the tutorial, but I plan on using VMC Pale Sand (007) for it.

For highlighting, I went on doing something semi-experimental. It is very hard to see in the pictures, but you should be able to get the idea.
I used VMC Pale Sand (007) for the first highlight. I put some at the top-most part, and just slowly pulled down. It was semi-drying already, so it spread nicely.

I then used VMC Ivory (005) for the second. I did it the same way, except I didn't pull down as far.

And thats how I get the bone shade in my Deathwing.

I pulled the last warrior out of the simple green last week. But I figured I wouldn't post that, as it wasn't too...important.

And I got an Assault on Black Reach Warboss today.

I used the snap fit to hold him together, I just pulled him off the sprue so I could check him out. I'm getting another one from Matt Bond (RedStarOne)soon. Once he finishes my Laiuss Horror (you don't get pictures yet (I don't have any)) I started the project, but I didn't feel like doing the tail, so he did it. He'll be sending me another AoBR boss! =-D Conversions Conversions!!!!

Chris: Yeah, he does look funky with only guns (especially since he has another one in his pack). But I cut up some chain saw weapons, and they just didn't fit too well...so I'm just going to leave him as is. Think of it this way, what he can't shoot, he can bash over the head with his big gun =-D

Horatio: I attempted to add a bayonet chainsaw thing, it just didn't look right.. so I'm going to leave him as is.

And I have another Dark Angels Dreadnought coming my way, thanks to Ion Raptor from Rogue-Market and Bolter&Chainsword. I don't have it yet, these are a couple of the pictures he sent me earlier today. I'll take some when I get it....and that marine in the background isn't mine.. =-*( or the other dread.

My paint stripping wasn't half as successful as the last time...

I'd like to thank all of you who comment, because it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Especially to Horatio, who I don't know, but yet he still manages to comment regularly.

Some real life news: I talked to my sister today, and the score I got on my SAT was only a little bit lower than her highest...which she got after three tries, so I guess thats a bit better feeling =-D

We also went to a National Cemetery today, to honor those who have fallen while in service for America. I thought I'd share a couple of pictures with you. Just so you can get a taste of the sheer awe that there is.

The 40k Life.

We got home around 2:00PMish (After waking up at 5AM earlier today), so I crashed until about 6, and then loafed around and sort of did some modeling.

I washed my dreadnought, and since the consensus is to have him walking down the base, so be it. Looks good either way, now that I brought the feet closer together. I glued on the engine, and thats it.

I started the pole for the buzz-saw thing for the Ork Nob. I originally planned on doing one solid pin down the shaft, but decided to do 2 pins. Realizing that that would mean double drilling, and double straightening, I just went all the way through. Just a bit of greenstuff and we can call it ace =-D

I also started on my True Scaling tutorial. It won't be a vid-tut, because that would take AGES, and this is going to be a longer project anywhoo. It'll be compiled into one large tutorial when I'm done constructing it. Heres a taste, sorta taste..its not too impressive... (If you haven't seen my first True Scale, check it out in some of the older posts)

I also found that for my Deathwing, if I water down the paint more, the texture goes away, and it goes on quite smooth. So I bulk watered down my entire mix, and I'm quite happy with the opaqueness of the paint still.

Horatio K Decameron: Even though walking on gives commanding presence, I think that having a crushed Ork under his foot would be much more awesome, which is what I plan on doing. Inferno cannon & assault drill arm were exactly what I was thinking, but the claws just looked so cool too =-D Well...at least...there isn't much to say about two people failing exams..hmm..Nob fixed =-D

So my problem is, I like playing with new toys =-D
So I'm working on assembly for my DA Dreadnought. I plan on gluing it all together after I paint the whole thing, but I'm working on a layout/plan so that I know what I'm doing when that time comes.

I'm working on the base, and several of the stances I've chosen are quite awkward looking, like hes either running, or falling forwards. The piece of CoD flooring is already glued, so that won't be moving.
BEFORE I POST THE REST!!! I realized that after writing half this post, if I bring the feet closer together, its not as fally-forwardish. So I'll be doing that using the walking over the tile pose.

Heres my favorite, walking over the tile, he fell down before I had the chance to take a side pic, but it looks like he's falling down anyways.

Heres the second, where hes walking off the tile..

And standing on the tile, my least favorite, but since his feet were close together, it looked the most natural.

I'm also in the process of looking for "exotic" arms for him off of Forgeworld as well. I was thinking either the Inferno Cannon and Assault Drill Arm, or two Close Combat Arms. I was thinking of buying both sets, but that'll set me back another $40ish...

Sadly, I won't be able to incorporate the Dark Angel Land Raider doors on the LRE (the BIG Land Raider, check out older posts for pictures of it) because they're already glued...but I'll save them for my next (4th) Land Raider >=-D

Some Real Life news....I took the SAT back in March, and I got my scores today...and sadly, I must say that I got less that 2000 (out of 2400)....way less...so I'm taking the subject tests in June, then retaking the SAT, and probably will retake it again...shucks.

Horatio K Decameron: After reading your post, I really wanted to replace the handle with a rod, but I realized that I had already pinned it..so I checked it out..and it fell apart =-( So I'll be doing exactly so. I'll still give it a long handle, as its still a two handed weapon, but hes just using it with one hand at the moment.

I've started whittling down the hands on the Ork weapons..which isn't easy, I tell you. They'll be cleaned up later on when I finish removing all the excess plastic.

And it'll all come together at some point...The guy with the gun will be one handing..like a beast, I may want to add greenstuff to his...MUSCLES! =-D And the guy with the buzz-sword-thing will be looking like he is following through with his swing.

And I knew this would overshadow the Orks, but I got some Forgeworld stuff!!!! My first FW stuff. I'M SO HAPPY! =-D

About Big Jim: Thanks for replying. But, all my VMC paints have a slight texture to them. I don't think its the bottle, because the few that I have (bought at different times) are all like that. I was told that VGC is a lot finer. But I think that the reason that I think its "Grainy" is because it doesn't have enough water in it, its starting to dry while I'm still using it, so I might have to retry.

VMC Failed Me...

I really don't like VMC paints... (Vallejo Model Color) I like the huge selection of paints, but I don't like the way that they're way grainier than Citadel Paints.

For those of you with trained eyes, can you see the difference between the body and the shoulder?

This paint (the VMC) was all applied on top of a watered down coat of Dheneb Stone. I was HIGHLY pleased with that coat...the VMC just sucked. The ratio was 3:3:2ish. Pale Sand, Dark Sand, water. I watered it down a bit more on the palette..but it still seems to have a much higher grain content or something...

I also just glued together my first Nob. I'm pleased. This guy will be my Nob Leader or something (not a warboss....) His pose is kinda-commanding huh?

So I went hiking this weekend. It was good, quite easy, since I haven't been hiking since mid-summer last year. And when I came home, I had 10 Ork Nobz and 5 Ork Kommandoz. An early birthday present! =-D Eventually, I'll make a mob, or whatever they're called, into a group of 20ish (not codex). But I'm quite pleased with the dex...I can pretty much do whatever I want with them =-D
I'm probably going to put them in a Battlewagon..or something. (Codexially, they won't fit (not with a Warboss), but thats okay.)

As yo ucan see, I saved 5 Terminators and 2 metal minis. I have enough legs (like..15) to make those Terminators into Dark Angels Termies when necessary.

My squad is now complete!

The Lascannon (freem) will be a count as assault cannon...

Paint strip part 2 has commenced!

As you can see...the little jar where I keep it all is filled to the brim...a lot of the stuff on top isn't touched by simple green X-D

Now to make sure my white primer isn't jacked up like before...to the paint!

I assembled 4 of my 5 Terminators! =-D This squad is in a non-dynamic stance. The next one will, as I have 4 running legs to work with. =-D

So my stuff came in right? So me being impatient...and not being able to wait for myself to buy the other parts, had to put SOMETHING together...knowing that I'll be using the main pieces, I glued/Greenstuffed it together. I need to make sure that this will never fall apart.

Had to clamp down on that piece with my Leatherman so it'd be perfect. Took me a while to bend it too, because this thing was pretty warped. (for my standards)

Spent about 20-30 minutes to get this thing to stay together.

I used putty to hold it together, and it wasn't strong enough X-P so it kept falling apart! Annoying as hell!

So my Emperor Battleship, and 10 Chaos Possesed marine bitz came in the mail today.
Its all in my bitz box now though...

The metal is kinda tarnished too...quite old..the box was OLDD...=-D

Uhm. Heres the plan. I was going to use 3 battleships. 2 of one design (Retribution or Emperor) and 1 of the other. (so 2 Emperors and 1 Retribution, or 2 Retributions and 1 Emperor), and 6-8 Cruisers (I've upped the count) seeing the size of this thing, I can assume the size of the Cruisers..
Heres the original design plan (saw something like it in Firebase Mag #1)

I'm also going to do a True Scale tutorial, because all the ones I've seen either suck, or never finish. Its not going to be a video tutorial, as that would take forever, but I won't post it until I finish the whole thing.

Took my SAT today. It went by really quickly, and the vocabulary killed me. =-P

I must say..I haven't made too much modeling headway...at all. The Fex head, which I've dubbed "UberVirtuosticCarnifexium" has received tusks, and one of them has been slightly greenstuffed on. The side two have not yet.

I watched Terminator 2 the other day, after a few hours of downloading it...it was a spectacular movie. =-D My Governator used a lot of heavy weapons.

So I made a Terminator Marine. Sorta. The M-79 didn't turn out as well as I wanted it too, but it still looks like a pretty heavy...stick. =-D I'll try to add the minigun on his left arm, using Terminator Assault Cannons as a base.

New Stuff!

This past few days, from Thursday to Sunday, my school band went up to Seattle to compete against bands around the country. Our Choir program, jazz, and wind groups all together got 19 awards. We got 1 bronze, 1 silver, 6 golds, 2 personal best jazz solo awards (out of 4 given out to the whole competition), and 9 sweepstakes awards. Those are the highest awards there.
Enough of that, we swept the floor. =-D While there, I met the owner of Rogue-Market. Tesla, or Justin, and we completed a trade. We originally agreed to trade via mail, but decided that it would be easier to just meet and do it personally =-D So I got a Land Raider Redeemer and 5 ranged Terminators =-D

I now have enough pieces to 'finish' my LRE. Including replacing missing parts. =-D I've secured another trade with someone, so I can make my Redeemer into a Phobos. So I have 4 sets of TL lascannons coming to me soon =-D

Its been a long time since I've handled a normal sized Land Raider...and they seem EVEN smaller without weapons.

I have the bitz for terminators too, like I said. But Tesla didn't give me any of the cool, extra bitz, but thats alright. I want to see how long I can go before I assemble these...its a mental thing.

I also won a bid on eBay for a Emperor Class Battleship. I will be looking for 1 more, and at least 4 cruisers. =-D SUPERSHIP is on its way!

So I figured that before I let another blog go to the bottom of the ocean...I would do a little work on the LRE.

I glued the real Land Raider armor plates on...and the Frag Launcher...I can't find the other one in the box that holds all the pieces...too bad I stepped on it once, and spread all the pieces on the floor.

I've started redoing the top plate, because it was too small, and not straight.

I've started slightly larger so that when I cut it down it won't have gaps.

Long Barreled Lascannons

For the Land Raider Exterminus, I'm making a set of long barreled Lascannons. =-D Kind of like the Long Barreled Railguns for the Tau Tigershark AX-01. They get longer range..so I figured that I could do the same here =-D
I need to add something to the main body of the gun, so its not awkwardly small.

What do you think? I didn't buy a set of tubing that had a wider diameter than the original tubing..so I had to use thin plasticard to wrap around the tubing to make a nozzle. Thats a problem...

Battlefleet Gothic and Council

Judging by the size of the comparison, I'd say that the ship on the right, would be about 5 or 6 inches long. PERFECT size for conversions =-D
I'm going for some Imperial Ships, to make a LARGE (maybe 10 inches or so..) SuperShip. =-D I don't exactly know what I'll be doing off the top of my head..but I have a pretty good idea.

Necron Scarab (I meant Tomb Spyder) with Nano Scarabs. Techmarine with servitors. Techpriest Engineseer with...brainstorming (I don't know who follow them around). A Big Mek with Grots. A Tyranid Digestion Pool with a Tendril going to the sky, with Genestealer Infestation thingies. A Fio'El with some Drones. And a Bonesinger with...brainstorming (I don't know who follow them around either). On the table, are various drinks of the various races.

I'm thinking of doing a full table, and make it sort of like the Council on the Death Star..like in this scene Image. At the head of the council, I'll find some Asian Authority-like model, to represent me =-D Since this IS Shortsonfire79's Modeling Council.

Tau Sniper Drone Tutorial

This is the first non-video tutorial I've done in a long time...check these out though =-D

I apologize in advance for the huge pictures, but I accidentally did 17" at photobucket..and it takes forever to upload 20 pictures...I don't want to do it again...

This is what we're striving for.

Underside

These are the things you need. 1 drone body, 2 Crisis Flamers, Arms, and targeter, 2 rifles (its been a while since I've done Tau), and 1 array thing for a Tau Tank.

Step 1
Take the array thing, and cut off the pointy part, and remove flash. Remove the front lense on the underside of the drone body. (or any, its just personal preference, you will want to have the holes facing forward, or you can fill them (this was originally supposed to be a shield drone, but I didn't have an extra shield, so it became a spare))

Step 2
Take the 2 Crisis Arms, and cut off the shoulder piece. Hold both while you do it, or they'll shoot across the room, which happened to the black one. =-P

Step 3
Take the 2 Crisis Flamers, and cut off the pack-thing, and the barrel. I left the barrel on the left one so you can see where to cut (just incase you need it.)

Step 4
Take your 2 rifles (pulse rifles?), and cut off the barrels. For ONE of the flamers, cut off the back part. The top one shown is to show what it was before, the bottom one is what you want it to look like.

Step ish.
These are all the pieces you want to keep. Everything else can go into the bitz box. YOU MUST HAVE A BITZ BOX!!! =-D just kidding..but you really should..

Step 5
Glue the Array thing in the drone body, where you cut off the lens. Cut the flamer (that you kept) to look like the bottom one.

Step 6
Glue the flamer on like so.

Step 7
Glue the flamer pack-thingies on like so.

Step 8
Glue the flamer barrels on like this. The area where you cut them off the original will line up perfectly.

Step 9
Glue the Crisis shoulders on like so. You'll have to move them around until you think they look good.

Step 10
Cut the Targeter to look something like the one on the left (the one on the right is an example) Cut it to fit on the front of the drone shell. (they're painted, because the original got messed up =-( )

Step 11
Glue the targeter on like so.

Step 12
Remember those 2 pulse rifle barrels? Glue them on like this.

Step 13.
Glue on a antenna..I don't have any spares (for some reason... =-/ )

Zangs a damn!

The targeter man will come along shortly..I haven't thought about him yet, as its been almost a year since I've made one of these. =-P

Hey all.

I'd like to thank Ron, from From the Warp blog! He posted up all of my tutorial videos on the masterblog! And got me two followers =-D

I've been commissioned to assemble 20 Lizardmen Tribe Funkers..or something (Temple Guard) for DirtyWaterPainting. I'll hopefully be doing more commissions for him...like 2 more Stormlords, and 10 Leman Russ' >=-D If he likes these Lizards.

Heres my Land Raider Exterminus.

The weapons are highly interchangeable. I will be making an Assault Cannon sponson, with 4 assault cannons PER sponson. =-D I'm going to be using the Flamestorm Cannons for the frontal guns (like where the Heavy Bolters/TL Assault Cannons go). The Whirlwind Battery will be on the back somewhere..

Some pintle people. The guy on the left is going to be the multi-melta gunner, the middle is...a random guy..and the right is the command module.

Heres my Sergeant Chronus. In AND out of the tank. He gets a powerfist, because (we at Rogue-Market decided..) he is a Dark Angel, and hes bad ass =-D He doesn't have shoulder pads, or a head, because I shipped all my DA bits to someone in Canada, so I need another box. =-/

Hey folks. After spending a good hour trying to figure out how to use Geocities, I just decided to fold, and use Blogger instead. This is basically going to be where I post all my WIPs (works in progress) and finished models etc. Many pictures. Some video tutorials will be expected.. but I can't tell you when.
